CASTRO's spring/summer 2012 show, held last night at the Tel Aviv Convention Grounds, was a tremendous success. Aside from being able to throw a killer party, CASTRO proved itself very talented at doing what it and its foreign competitors (H&M, ZARA) are meant to do: take the season's trends and create affordable copies. Accordingly, the men's runway overflowed with with the biggest hits from the past few seasons of men's fashion: plenty of color blocking and ethnic prints. Accessories ranged from Tibetan bead necklaces to Indian moccasins, gladiator sandals and bags which were distinctly reminiscient of the CELINE Cabas bag. Beautifully printed ikat pieces (the blue pants!) had a lot in common with pieces from Burberry Prorsum's spring/summer collection, but nonetheless represented a huge step forward in Israeli commercial fashion. The huge image of a desert sunset which served as the backdrop for the runway was a bit amateur in terms of production, but nonetheless a fitting concept for the collection's earth tone colored, lightweight (suited to the Israeli climate) fabrics. The show, which unveiled the company's new "Black" collection (couldn't someone have thought of a more original name?!) was attended by the biggest and brightest stars of the local industry. From the red carpet to the post-show cocktails, the whole event was smooth and distinctly VIP. Below you'll find a few of my favorite looks from the runway. ♥ The Boyfriend

תצוגת האופנה של קסטרו לאביב/קיץ 2012 ,שנערכה אתמול בלילה בגני התערוכה בתל אביב, הייתה הצלחה מסחררת. חוץ מלדעת להרים מסיבה מהממת, קסטרו הוכיחה את כישרונה בעשיית מה שהיא ומתחריה הזרים (אייצ' אנד אמ וזארה) נועדו לעשות: לאמץ טרנדים חמים של העונה וליצור תרגומים בעלי הישג יד לקונה הממוצע. אכן, מסלול האופנה הגברית שפע בטרנדים הכי חזקים שהיו בעונות האחרונות, כולל קולור בלוקינג והדפסים אתנים מדהימים. האקססוריז שקסטרו הציגה התחילו בשרשראות חרוזים טיבטים, מוקסינים אינדיאנים וסנדלי גלדיאטור והסתיימו בתיקים שמאד הזכירו את תיק ה"קבאס" של חברת סלין. פריטים עם הדפסי איקאט יפייפים (לדוגמה: המכנסיים הכחולים) דווקא הזכירו מאוד את קולקצית אביב/קיץ של ברברי פרורסום, אבל בכל זאת מהווים צעד גדול באופנה המסחרית הישראלית. התמונה של שקיעה מדברית כרקע למסלול התצוגה הייתה מעט חובבנית, יחסית לסטנדרטים תעשייתים, אבל הציגה אווירה מתאימה לצבעי האדמה והבדים קלי המשקל (המותאמים למזג האוויר הישראלי) הניכרים בבגדים. לתצוגה, שחשפה את קו האופנה "בלאק" (לא יכלו לחשוב על שם מקורי יותר!?) החדש והיוקרתי יותר של המותג, הגיעו המי ומי של התעשייה הישראלית. החל מהשטיח האדום ועד לשעת הקוקטייל בסיום הערב, כל האירוע היה מלוטש ואקסלוסיבי לגמרי. כאן למטה תמצאו את הלוקים האהובים עלי מהמסלול. ♥ הבויפרנד
