Yesterday the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design held its annual show featuring the work of graduates of the fashion and jewelry design program, at Jerusalem's Old Post Office building. The school's amazing administration gave Boyfriend Magazine a look behind the scenes, at the preparations for the show.

Minutes before the show begins, Hed Mayner prepares a piece from his collection Safra VeSayfa, including clothing, bags, and shoes which were created with intense thought of their position on the body and adaption to it when worn. Mayner's pieces are almost monastic in their severity yet still luxurious and lucious thanks to opulent colors and fabrics as well as fascinating silhouettes.

Hila Feinberg's all-black ONE OF collection played with the volumes, shapes, proportions and textures of normal menswear in order to examine an individual's standing our from the mainstream. These unique pieces distort the usual silhouettes and lines of the body, also inventing interesting places for draping and even pockets. One of my favorite pieces of the entire day was Feinberg's breastplate backpack, which you can see her dressing on the model below.

Designer and Bezalel instructor Doron Ashkenazi helps graduate Paz Akuka put the final touches on her collection Pocket Contains Pocket, a selection of pieces examining the functional versus aesthetic value of pockets. The leather pockets featured in her work are all attachable and detachable, allowing the garment to change based on utilitarian or aesthetic considerations and allowing the wearer to make design choices.
