VANS + KENZO #2

French fashion label KENZO, under the new direction of Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, has released its second capsule collection in collaboration with amazing sneakers brand, Vans. This time inspried by the jungles of Thailand, the joint effort between these two brands, a perfect marriage, is only getting better. The summer 2013 collection includes six pairs of sneakers and slippers which will be sold in select stores around the world and on the Kenzo website. ♥ The Boyfriend

בית האופנה הצרפתי קנזו, בניהולם הקריאטיבי החדש של הומברטו ליאון וקרול לים, השיק את קולקציית הקפסולה השנייה שלו בשיתוף פעולה עם מותג נעלי הספורט הענק, ואנס. הפעם בהשראת הג'ונגל התאילנדי, היצירה המשותפת בין שני מותגים אלה נהיית רק יותר משובחת עם הזמן. הקולקציה לקיץ 2013 כוללת שש זוגות סניקרס ונעלי בית וניתנת לרכישה בחנויות נבחרות ברחבי העולם וגם באתר האינטרנט של קנזו. הבויפרנד ♥

Barbour + Vans

Just in time for this especially rainy Israeli winter, Vans' latest collaboration joins forces with the classic style of Barbour, a family-owned British legacy brand founded in 1894 and known worldwide for its fashion-meets-function cold weather jackets with trademark water-resistance and military color palette. Collaborations are a leading phenomenon of the fashion/accessories industries in the 2010s. They are a gimmick that allows designers and retailers to expand their lines and tap into other brands' audiences while retaining/enhancing their branding and sometimes bearing wonderful fruit. This newest collaborative stroke of genius features three pairs of limited-edition shoes which feature Vans' signature sole vulcanization and the waxed fabric technique, tartan, corduroy and leather touches which are automatically identifiable with Barbour. My favorite pair from the collection is the Classic Era Wingtip, which you can check out below. ♥ The Boyfriend

VANS + KENZO

As you'll recall from my recent post, I am a big fan of Vans. These gorgeous sneakers are the fruit of a collaboration for summer 2012 between the shoe company born from skater-culture and the high-fashion house of KENZO - and will soon be sold in Israel. Just like me, the creative directors of KENZO, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, are also huge fans, "We have so many pairs of Vans that it's hard to count! Vans is an iconic American brand and we
loved the idea of infusing American style into the house of Kenzo."

כמו שבטח זכור לכם מהפוסט הקודם, אני חסיד גדול של נעלי ואנס. חברת ואנס ובית האופנה העילית קנזו - השיקו סדרת נעליים לקיץ 2012 - ושלושת הדגמים האלה מהקולקציה מתוכננים להגיע לחנויות בארץ בחודש יולי! כמוני, מנהלי הקריאייטיב של קנזו, הומברטו לאון וקרול לים, כנראה גם מעריצים גדולים. "יש לנו כ"כ הרבה זוגות של ואנס שקשה אפילו לספור! ואנס הוא אחד מהמותגים האמריקאים האייקוניים ואהבנו את הרעיון של החדרת הסטייל האמריקני הזה לבית קנזו."

Boyfriend's Closet: Vans

I have a small confession - I am obsessed with white Vans sneakers. If you personally know the Boyfriend than you know that for about the past six years, I've worn white Vans sneakers every day of my life. I was inspired by a 2006 Dior Homme runway show featuring white shoes and have never looked back. I've decided to "come out of the closet" with my obsession in celebration of the Vans label finally opening stores in Israel, which means that I don't have to order my sneakers (which I replace every 3 months) from the United States. Amen! ♥ The Boyfriend
יש לי וידוי קטן - אני לגמרי אובססד עם סניקרס לבנים של ואנס. אם אתם מכירים אישית את הבויפרנד אז אתם כבר יודעים שבשש השנים האחרונות, אני נועל סניקרס לבנים של ואנס בערך כל יום בחיי. הכל התחיל כשקיבלתי השראה מתצוגת אופנה של דיור הום ב2006 ומאז לא הסתכלתי לאחור. החלטתי "לצאת מהארון" עם האובססיה שלי באופן חגיגי לכבוד פתיחת החנויות הרשמיות של ואנס בארץ, שזה אומר שאני לא צריך יותר להזמין את הנעליים שלי (שאני מחליף כל שלושה חודשים) מארצות הברית. אמן! ♥ הבויפרנד
