This past weekend (September 15-17) The Station, the renovated Mandate-era train station/entertainment compound in Tel Aviv's Neve Tzedek neighborhood, hosted Tel Aviv Fashion Weekend 2011, which included a runway show for invited VIPs and an open-to-the-public exhibition of the work of several recent graduates of Israel's leading design schools.
The theme of the exhibition, Stations of Mind, curated by Shlomit Ziv Alvas, was the human mind's various capabilities (reason, perception, etc.) and the connections between them, with each outfit/designer representing a different psychic faculty. The best part of the show was that you could actually touch the pieces and examine them from all angles - a brilliant display choice!

The leather jacket on the right (as well as the knitwear and shirt) are part of the collection by Niran Avisar, a Shenkar College graduate, which recently won the Diesel award at the annual Italian ITS design competition.

And, last but definitely not least, three unbelievably beautiful dresses by Shenkar graduate Mark Goldenberg. These pieces undoubtedly stole the show with their intricate, gravity-defying construction, attitude and unapologetic, animalistic sexiness. Pictures can hardly do justice to the details and overall beauty of these pieces.

Afterwards, I checked out some of the stores The Station. I bought a fashion book and a copy of September's GQ magazine at the "coffee table book" branch of Tzomet Sfarim. Later on, I saw this amazing necklace by NORITAMY at the store Razili.
