Boyfriend's Closet: ADIDAS + Opening Ceremony

Opening Ceremony began as a curated boutique, founded in 2002 by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, on the border between New York's Soho and Chinatown neighborhoods. Since then it has grown into a multinational retailer with its own clothing label and a plethora of genius collaborations with brands like Topshop, Rodarte, and Pendleton as well as icons like Chloe Sevigny and the Muppets. Humberto and Carol have gone on to become industry icons in their own right and won the sweet job of creative direction of the house of KENZO, bringing a breath of fresh creativity to the brand. Boyfriend's Closet: Ladybug

Sometimes great things come from unexpected places. The Boyfriend recently found this adorable grey suede messenger bag from Ladybug at the Frau Blau boutique in Tel Aviv's Hashmal Park. Luxury meets utility in this simple piece! The leather is soft and luxurious, and messenger bags are by far the most practical for day to day business. Lastly, let's take this opportunity to review the Boyfriend's rules for man bags:

1. Nothing smaller than 38cm width and length

2. Have at least one new bag per season

3. Only in the daytime! A man should never carry a bag at night

That being said, all rules have exceptions. And the Boyfriend loves to break them. ♥ The Boyfriend

Boyfriend's Closet: Sperry Boat Shoes

Boat shoes, typically made of canvas or leather with non-marking rubber soles designed for use on a boat's wet deck, were invented in 1935 by Paul Sperry. This awesome version is a twist on the classic Sperry shoe which incorporates the current color-blocking trend with a blue sole. So cute. ♥ The Boyfriend

I have a small confession - I am obsessed with white Vans sneakers. If you personally know the Boyfriend than you know that for about the past six years, I've worn white Vans sneakers every day of my life. I was inspired by a 2006 Dior Homme runway show featuring white shoes and have never looked back. I've decided to "come out of the closet" with my obsession in celebration of the Vans label finally opening stores in Israel, which means that I don't have to order my sneakers (which I replace every 3 months) from the United States. Amen! ♥ The Boyfriend

I just bought these great sandals by Israeli brand Dafna, founded at the kibbutz of the same name in 1964 and is now owned by Teva Naot. They're attractive, simple and totally useful - since they're made from rubber they're perfect for the beach or the city. ♥ The Boyfriend.

Boyfriend's Closet: Ralph Lauren

These are The Boyfriend's new Ralph Lauren espadrilles in purple suede. In case you didn't know, espadrilles are traditional peasant shoes form the Catalonia region of Spain, made of canvas and rope. What Ralph Lauren has done here is take a low-cost, ethnic item of clothing and elevate it to the level of fashion through luxurious materials, design choices (color) and price (don't even ask!) - a clever and sexy fashion makeover. Just look at that gorgeous color! This is my favorite shoe for the summer. ♥ The Boyfriend

Boyfriend's Closet: PRADA

The Boyfriend recently moved to a new house (which you will get to see very soon). While cleaning out my closet, I came upon my collection of PRADA sneakers, which I amassed in the early 2000s. By now, they are way out of style and I wouldn't wear them at all. But what should I do with them? On the one hand, I try and observe the rule: what you don't wear, you throw away. But, on the other hand, these were expensive and might be trendy again one day! A true fashion dilemma! I would be happy to get some advice from you guys. ♥ The Boyfriend

Tel Aviv doesn't have much of a winter. Days can be unexpectedly warm or cold and rainy, between the months of November and February. To any European, it's a joke. Buch much like the Californian variety of our species, Israelis panic at the sight of a little rain. This is the perfect time of year for layers and warm accessories. This is my collection of Burberry cashmere scarves. Besides being soft and delicious, they'll never go out of style. ♥ The Boyfriend

I'll give you a little gossip about The Boyfriend. I have an obsession, a weakness, for beautiful sunglasses. I feel naked when I'm not wearing them, and when I see a pair I love I usually cannot resist buying them - price irrelevant.

I bought this pair of Dior "Motard" sunglasses in 2001, when they were quite the "it" accessory and were seen on the faces of all kinds of celebrities. They're extremely delicate yet make quite a statement when worn. Unlike a lot of my other pairs, they've survived years of my abuse pretty well and are in perfect condition. Maybe you can get a hold of them when my fabulous wardrobe is auctioned off, like Elizabeth Taylor's, when I'm gone. ♥ The Boyfriend

אני אשתף אתכם באובססיה של הבויפרנד, נקודת תורפה, חולשה - למשקפיים יפייפיות. אני מרגיש עירום כשאני לא מרכיב אותן וכשאני רואה זוג שאני אוהב, בדרך-כלל אני לא יכול לעמוד בפניו ורוכש אותו בכל מחיר שיהיה נקוב על התווית, ממש לא רלוונטי מהו

"קניתי את זוג משקפי ה"מוטרד" של דיור האלה בשנת 2001 , כשהן היו ה-דבר הכי נחשב ונראו על פניהם של כל מיני סלבריטאים. הן מאוד עדינות ועם זאת יש להן נוכחות אדירה ואיזה שהיא הצהרה. בניגוד לזוגות האחרים שלי, הזוג הזה שרד את ההתעללויות שלי במשך שנים והוא במצב מצויין. אולי תצליחו לאחוז בהם כשהמלתחה שלי תעמוד למכירה פומבית, ממש כמו אליזבת טיילור, כשאני אלך לחדר-ארונות-הבגדים שבשמיים. ♥ הבויפרנד

You might be devastated to know this, but The Boyfriend basically wears the same thing everyday. I have a uniform. It sounds sad and boring. But it's not. Lots of talented people do it. Think: Karl Lagerfeld or Gandhi. For that reason, I love to accessorize my outfits to perfection.

My outfit today included these opulent winter accessories. The bag, by A.P.C. is the perfect fall color: rust. Let's be clear, though - a man should ONLY ever carry a bag during the day, to work. That's it. Period. The glasses are huge, fun and so now. The scarf is beautifully soft cashmere from the New York label, Magaschoni. It also holds sentimental value because it was a gift from a beloved friend. ♥ The Boyfriend

התלבושת שלי היום כללה את האביזרים החורפיים המהממים האלה: התיק, של אי.פי.סי. בצבע מושלם לעונה, חלודה. אבל בואו נהיה ברורים: גבר אמור להחזיק תיק רק במשך היום - לעבודה. זהו. נקודה. המשקפיים הם כל כך "עכשיוויים". הצעיף, שעשוי ממאה אחוז קשמיר רך ומפנק הוא של המותג הסיני/ניו יורקי, מגשוני. הוא גם בעל ערך סנטימנטלי כי קיבלתי אותו כמתנה מחבר אהוב. ♥ הבויפרנד

Boyfriend's Closet: MY NEW GOYARD WALLET!

Look what came in the mail! I am so excited.

This is the wallet that I custom-ordered with the help of the amazing Goyard representative in San Francisco, Liana Neumann-Landais. All luxury brands could take a lesson from Goyard and this lovely representative.

Could it be any more beautiful? It's my new baby. The only problem...it's way too perfect to actually use.
